About

Churning Man seeks to empower motivated travelers (read: travel hackers), especially those new to churning, to smoothly and successfully navigate the universe of earning and redeeming credit card, airline, and hotel points and miles in order to travel the world while spending as little money as possible.

While there are numerous miles and points blogs out there, I’ve created Churning Man to be a beginner’s go-to blog filled with step-by-step guides, clear and simple examples, and commonly sought after trips, routes, and destinations. I’ve also decided to start this blog due in large part to the constant urging of numerous friends, coworkers, and family who’ve been impressed with my knowledge of churning and ability to earn and burn points and miles for amazing vacations (and probably so they don’t have to hear me rant about credit cards every time we’re together).

As for my background, I’ve been traveling since before I was born (went to Hawaii and New Zealand while my mom was still pregnant!) and have been to over 25 countries since then, including some multiple times. To say I have the travel itch or travel bug is an understatement – I’m constantly looking for travel deals, researching destinations, reading about foreign affairs, and daydreaming about our next adventure, even at work (sorry Hines!). Living in San Francisco we’re fortunate to have access to so many flights and destinations around the world, which coupled with 3 weeks of vacation time annually, allow us to visit multiple new countries and cities every year.

The only things that hold us back from traveling more often are time and money; churning solves the latter issue!

When it comes to churning, I’ve been in the game for 12 months, acquired 13+ credit cards, and earned over 500,000 miles and points – and that doesn’t even include the dozens of cards I’ve helped others get! I’ve also redeemed points and miles for trips to Hawaii, New Zealand, Australia, our engagement in Paris and Copenhagen, and for various other domestic adventures.

I genuinely hope you enjoy the blog and learn something about churning, as that’s my ultimate goal.
